|Bark in the Park 2009
By Dana Stokesberry
As part of the requirements to receive my Silver Award in Girl Scouts, I put together a community service project entitled “Are You Prepared?” This included a “how to” presentation, a dog first aid kit, dog evacuation kit, and 5 page informational package I made. Town and Country Dog Training Club allowed me space in their booth to participate at this event to present my project to the community. I am proud to have been able to meet and greet so many and hand out my package to over 500 people. I also was invited to give my presentation to several other groups. Bark in the Park is the largest Dog Festival in the United States. All proceeds are put back into the community through pet charities, educational enrichment in our local schools, children’s literacy programs, and activities which improve the community through resident involvement and events. This was on Saturday September 19th.
