We're working for you: AKC GR Welcomes New Director
Goffe joined the AKC in August 2006, as Breed Columns Editor. She also wrote frequent feature articles for the AKC Gazette. In early 2008, Sheila was named Manager of AKC’s Public Education Department, a department she continues to advise. Before coming to AKC, she worked for Congressional Quarterly, Inc., in Washington, D.C. Her previous experience includes working for the Economist Newsgroup Economic Intelligence Unit, and for the International Executive Service Corps as Senior Evaluations Analyst and Regional Program Analyst. Sheila has completed Ph.D. coursework and research in American politics/public policy, earned a M. Phil in American politics and a M.A. in international political economy and development from Fordham University. She was an Adjunct Lecturer of comparative politics at SUNY/Stony Brook, and a Fulbright Scholar in Sri Lanka. She earned her B.A. in political science at Fairfield University. Sheila is a breeder/owner/handler of Siberian Huskies and is a member of the Siberian Husky Club of America, the Chesapeake Siberian Husky Club, and the Newtown (CT) Kennel Club. She participates in conformation, performance, and companion events. As Director of Government Relations, Sheila is responsible for all AKC legislative initiatives on the local, state, and federal levels. – Phil M. Guidry, Legislative Analyst |



The American Kennel Club announces the appointment of Sheila Goffe to Director of the Government Relations Department. She replaces Walter Bebout, who retired in late November after 12 years with the AKC.
