URGENT – Oppose Amended AB 1634 Assembly Bill 1634, the California bill that will require any dog or cat over the age of four months to be spayed or neutered unless the owner qualifies for and obtains an intact animal permit, has been amended again. The amendments change the language relating to service and law enforcement dogs and allows breeders who can prove they are breeding service/working/law enforcement dogs to obtain a permit.
The amendments do NOT change AKC’s fundamental opposition to AB 1634. The bill continues to penalize responsible owners breeders and will not decrease shelter populations.
