TrophiesThe prizes offered at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship were as elegant and spectacular as the winners themselves. The Show Committee was pleased to unveil the following medallions and trophies.
- Best in Show:
The American
Kennel Club offers a 14" Perpetual Tiffany Loving Cup in pewter on a
walnut base. Each year the names of the BIS dog and its owner(s) and
breeder(s) will be engraved on the base's plaque. This trophy is on
permanent display in the AKC Library in New York. The winner each year
will receive an 8½" replica of this trophy, offered by The American
Kennel Club.
The American Kennel Club also offers a 15¼" engraved silver plate Revere Bowl.
The Iams Company offers the "Salute to Champions" trophy created by artist James Gion. The bronze will remain on display at the Iams Company in Dayton, Ohio. The name of the BIS winner will be engraved on a plate on the trophy's base. Gion will create a bronze head study of the winning dog, to be presented to its owners. - Group I:
The American Kennel Club offers a 10" engraved silver plate Revere Bowl.
The Iams Company offers a bronze bas-relief of the win, to be created
by James Gion and presented to the dogs' owners. - Group II through
IV:: The American Kennel Club offers an 8" engraved silver plate
Revere Bowl.
- Best of Breed/Variety, Best of Opposite Sex, and Best Bred-By in Breed: Special commemorative pewter medallions for those breeds whose Parent Clubs have chosen to sponsor an award.
- Best Junior
Handler in Show: The American Kennel Club offers an 11" engraved
silver plate tray.
- In addition, every Rosette will contain an official commemorative medallion, and each dog entered and exhibited will receive a special medallion.
