The AKC Canine Partners department again partnered with the Wake County branch of the American Cancer Society on its 2012 Wake Walk-n-Wag event that took place Sunday, Oct. 28, at Koka Booth Amphitheater park near Raleigh, NC.
Hundreds of people walked with their dogs around the lake to raise money for the American Cancer Society and enjoyed numerous activities, contests and demonstrations, including Agility, Rally, Flyball, Canine Freestyle, Treibball and the Cary (NC) K-9 Police. Attendees could also take advantage of free AKC Canine Good Citizen testing and could try Agility and Rally with their dogs at the AKC’s My Dog Can Do That! attraction.
Nearly $12,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society – and the AKC was the top fund-raising team, bringing in $1,874.00!
