New Exhibitor Mentoring Program

Interested in Mentoring

If you are an experienced fancier and would like to serve as a mentor you must meet these requirements:

• bred, owned or handled at least two titled dogs (in appropriate event)
• be willing to assist new participants in breeds other than your own
• be 18 years of age
• be a member in good standing of an AKC-affiliated Club
• have been active in the sport for a minimum of six years
• have a good knowledge of events (including the AKC Rules, Regulations and Policies)
• be willing to work with new participants to encourage them to participate in AKC events
• agree that while in the presence of any mentee you will conduct yourself in a sportsman-like manner.
• have read AKC's Do's and Don'ts safety tips
• have read AKC's Code of Sportsmanship
