Juniors continue to be successful in all events for which we congratulate those who are participating in Companion and Performance Events who are handling their dogs to titles.

Please develop the habit of checking the Judge's Sheets to confirm that your dog's awards are marked correctly as well as the Junior Showmanship Class markings. If there is an error, it is much easier to correct the day of the show as opposed to after the fact.

Many of the Dog Show Photographers offer a photograph to the winner of Best Junior at an event. AKC greatly appreciates receiving some of these for the Junior Newsletter and I thank the photographers who submit them. I am sure the Juniors who receive these photographs as an award are thanking the photographers as well.

If you are not currently a Junior member of either a breed club, all breed club or training club I encourage you to look into joining. Learn how a club is run and what is required to conduct an event. Volunteer and assist, it is a great learning experience!

We have a new AKC program - AKC Therapy Dog. The AKC Therapy Dog program awards an official AKC title awarded to dogs who have worked to improve the lives of the people they have visited.

If you are interested in writing about your experiences or a special event in which you participated, please submit to juniors@akc.org. We also appreciate receiving photographs of Juniors competing or just hanging out at AKC events. If you have a camera and enjoy taking photos, please forward with information about the show or event.
