Rocky Mountain Borzoi Club Holds Successful Coursing Ability Test Event in Colorado

By Tom Golcher

The Rocky Mountain Borzoi Club held its first coursing ability test on May 21, 2011. We were supported by the Weimaraner Club. We had 15 different breeds represented: Australian Cattle Bedlington Terrier, Boxer, Chinese Crested, Dogue de Bordeaux, Golden Retriever, Great Dane, Norwegian Lundehund, Pharaoh Hound, Rat Terrier, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Cocker Spaniel,Vizsla, Weimaraner, and a really terrific running little West Highland White Terrier. The Dogue de Bordeaux earned her title here at the ranch. Her owner says she is the first of the breed with the CAT title.

We didn’t know what to expect but it turned out to be very successful with 28 entries. We will be holding two more events in August. Once the word spreads about how much fun this is, we expect even more to attend.
